محمد بن علي بن أحمد بن محمود الوراق أندلسي؛ يكنى: أبا عبد الله. سمع بمكة من أبي العباس أحمد بن الحسن الرازي، وأبي ذر عبد بن أحمد الهروي وغيرهما. وجاور بمكة كثيرا، وكان حسن الخط، وقد كتب من صحيح البخاري غير ما نسخة هي بأيدي الناس، حدث عنه من أهل الأندلس أبو الوليد الباجي، وأبو محمد الشنتجيالي وأبو عمر بن مغيث وغيرهم.
