محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن يحيى بن محمد بن أحمد بن مروان بن سليمان بن عثمان بن مروان بن أبان بن عثمان بن عفان القرشي العثماني اللغوي: من أهل قرطبة؛ يكنى: أبا القاسم. ويعرف: بابن شق حبه. روى بها عن أبي عمر بن أبي الحباب، وأبي عمر بن الجسور، وابن العطار وغيرهم. وكان عالماً بالأدب واللغة، وسكن طليطلة وأخذ الناس عنه بها. وسمع منه القاضي أبو الأصبغ بن سهل في صفر سنة تسع وثلاثين وأربع مائة. وتوفي ليلة الخميس لتسع بقين لجمادى الأولى سنة ثلاث وأربعين وأربع مائة.
