محمد بن مساور بن أحمد بن طفيل: من أهل قرطبة؛ يكنى: أبا بكر. سكن طليطلة. روى عن هاشم بن يحيى، وعبد الوارث بن سعيد، وأبي زيد العطار وغيرهم. وكان فصيح الكلام، حسن البيان، كثير الخير عمن مضى من السلف الصالح، وكان متواضعا يسلم على كل من لقي، محبوبا في أعين الناس، موقعا موقرا بجميل لقائه للناس، وحسن اعتقادهم له. ذكره أبو الحسن الإلبيري وذكر أنه أخذ عنه سنة ثلاثٍ وثلاثين وأربع مائة. وولد سنة ثلاث وستين وثلاث مائة.
