محمد بن عبد العزيز بن أحمد الخشني، المعروف بابن المعلم: من أهل قرطبة سكن إشبيلية؛ يكنى: أبا الوليد. روى عن أبي بكر بن الأحمر، وأبي محمد الباجي، والعاصي وغيرهم. وكان: إماما في فنون الآداب وصياغة الشعر وفك المعمى، مقدما في الشعراء المطبوعين، ثاقب الذهن في كل ما يعكس عليه ذهنه، وله تواليف في الأدب حسان. وتوفي سنة ثلاثين وأربع مائة. وهو ابن سبع وسبعين مائة. ذكره ابن خزرج وروى عنه.
