محمد بن عيسى بن أبي عثمان بن حيوة بن زياد بن عبد الله بن مثوب الأموي الجنجيلي؛ يكنى: أبا عبد الله. سكن طليطلة. سمع: عمرو أبي ميمونة، وابن مدراج، وله رحلة إلى المشرق. وكان منقبضا زاهدا لم تفته صلاة في جماعة إلا أن يكون منع من الله. وكان يصعد المنار ويؤذن لكل صلاة. وكان قد التزم التفات الطرق فإذا رأى بطاقة فيها اسم الله صر عليها وأمسكهاحتى يجتمع عنده منها كثير، ثم يمر بها إلى النهر ويلقيها به. وكان مولده يوم عرفة سنة أربع وثلاثين وثلاث مائة.
