محمد بن يحيى بن خميس: مولى بني أمية؛ يكنى: أبا عبد الله. كان ذا قدر في العدالة والجاه، والثروة بقرطبة. وهو الذي حمل عنه أنه سمع صاحب الرد عبد الملك بن منذر بن سعيد يقول يوم صلبه وقد استقل على جذعه: اللهم إن كنت كشفت ستري في الدنيا فلا تكشفه في الآخرة يا أرحم الراحمين. توفي في ذي القعدة سنة إحدى وأربع مائة. ذكره ابن حيان. ونقلته من خط أبي القاسم ابن عتاب.
