محمد بن تمام بن عبد الله بن تمام: من أهل طليطلة يكنى: أبا عبد الله. روى عن أبيه تمام بن عبد الله، وكانت له رحلة إلى المشرق مع أبي عبد الله بن عابد، وأخذ معه عن ابن إسماعيل وغيره. وكان فيها، عالما، متفننا، شاعرا، موثقا، حسن الخط مهيبا وكان نهما في الأكل، كان يدخل الطعام على الطعام حتى صار في بطنه دودٌ يسمى حب القرع، فكان في بعض الأيام يشتد عليه، فكان يشرب السمن والعسل فيلقيهما. قتله أهل طليطلة سنة أربع مائة. أو إحدى وأربع مائة. ذكره ابن مطاهر. قال ابن حيان سنة أربع مائة.
