قاسم بن إسماعيل بن يونس بن معاوية بن عبد الجبار بن عبد الله بن إسماعيل بن يونس بن قطن بن جشم المعافري البجاني؛ يكنى: أبا محمد. يحدث عن سعيد بن فحلون، وعلي بن حسن المري، وأحمد بن جابر بن عبيدة وغيرهم. وأصلهن بشذونة، ومولده ببجانة في آخر شوال سنة خمسٍ وعشرين وثلاث مائة. حدث عنه الصاحبان لقياه بقرطبة، وسمع الناس منه كثيرا من روايته.
