العز بن محمد بن تقنه، يكنى: أبا تميم، وأصله من العدوة. أخذ بقرطبة عن أبي القاسم بن الإفليلي كثيراً من كتب اللغة والآداب. وكان حافظاً لهما مقدماً في معرفتهما، وقد أخذ الناس عنه وتوفي سنة ثمان وثمانين وأربع مائة.
