علي بن عبد الله بن محمد بن موهب الجذامي من أهل المرية؛ يكنى: أبا الحسن روى عن أبي العباس العذري كثيرا واختص به؛ وسمع من القاضي أبي إسحاق ابن وردون والقاضي أبي بكر بن صاحب الأحباس وغيرهم. وأجاز له أبو عمر ابن عبد البر، وأبو الوليد الباجي ما روياه. وكان: من أهل العلم والمعرفة، والذكاء، والفهم وجمع في تفسير القرآن كتابا حسنا مفيدا، وله معرفة بأصول الدين، وحج بيت الله الحرام. أخذ الناس عنه وكتب إلينا بإجازة ما رواه، ومولده لعشر خلون من رمضان سنة إحدى وأربعين وأربع مائة. وتوفي ﵀ ليلة الخميس السادس عشر من جمادى الأولى سنة اثنتين وثلاثين وخمسمائة.
