    ٣٢٦٤ - أخوه الحُجَّة (¬١): أبو بكر أحمد بن محمد بن سَلْم، وُلِدَ نحو سنة ثمانين. وسمع أبا مسلم الكَجِّي، وعبد الله بن أحمد، وأحمد بن علي الأبار، وإدريس الحدَّاد، وطائفة. وعنه: الدارقطني، وابن أبي الفوارس، والبرقاني، وأبو نعيم، وآخرون. وكان أحد علماء بغداد، كتب من القراءات والتفاسير أمرًا كثيرًا. قال الخطيب: كان صالحًا ثقة ثبتًا. وُلِدَ سنة ثمان وسبعين ومائتين. توفِّي سنة خمس وستين وثلاث مائة.
