    ٣١٦٩ - ابن علم (¬١): الشيخ المعمّر، أبو بكر، وأبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله بن عمرويه البغدادي الصفَّار، المعروف بابن علم. له جزء مشهور سمعناه. روى عن: محمد بن إسحاق الصغاني، وأحمد بن أبي خيثمة، وعبد الله بن أحمد، ومحمد بن نصر. روى عنه: هلال الحفار، وابن رزقويه، وابن الفضل القطان، وأبو عليّ بن شاذان. قال الخطيب: لم أسمع أحدًا يقول فيه إلَّا خيرًا، وجميع ما عنده جزء، مات في شعبان سنة تسع وأربعين وثلاث مائة. ثم قال: يقال: أتى عليه مائة سنة وسنة. قلت: حكايته عن عبد الله بن أحمد في قول أبيه لا تُعَدُّ مُنْكَرَة.
