    ١٢٢٢ - أخوه محمد بن سليمان (¬١): ولي البصرة أيضًا، وكان فارس بن هاشم، قتل إبراهيم بن عبد الله الخارج على المنصور. وولي أيضًا مملكة فارس، وكان جوادًا، مُمَدحًا. قيل: إن الرشيد احتاط على تَرِكَته، فكانت خمسين ألف ألف درهم. وقال الخطيب: كان عظيم قومه، ويقال: إنه قال عند الموت: يا ليت أمي لم تلدني، ويا ليتني كنت حمَّالا. وكان رقيق القلب. توفي سنة ثلاث وسبعين ومائة.
