شيخ آخر: هو أبو يعقوب، يوسف بن طاهر بن يوسف بن الحسن، الخويي، الأديب من أهل خوي. أديب فاضل، وفقيه بارع. حسن السيرة، رقيق الطبع، مليح الشعر، مستحسن النظم. كتب لي أجزاء من مجموعاته وشعره، وسمعتها منه. وكان قد سكن نوقان طوس، وولي نيابة القضاء بها، وحمدت سيرته في ذلك. وسمع معنا كتاب الكشف والبيان في تفسير القرءان، لأبي إسحاق الثعالبي، من الشيخين أبي سعد ناصر بن سهل البغدادي، وأبي محمد محمد بن المنتصر بن حفص المتولي، بروايتهما عن الفرخزاذي، عن المصنف. ومن جملة مصنفاته: رسالة تنزيه القرءان الشريف عن وصمة اللحن والتحريف. وظني أنه قتل في وقعة الغز بطوس، سنة تسع وأربعين وخمس مائة، أو قبلها بيسير.
