شيخ آخر: هو أبو حنيفة النعمان بن إسماعيل بن أبي حرب، البملاني، المروزي، من أهل مرو، وبملان إحدى قراها. فقيه صالح. تفقه على القاضي أبي منصور محمد بن عبد الجبار السمعاني، وتلمذ له، وسمع منه الحديث، ومن أبي مسعود أحمد بن محمد بن عبد الله البجلي الرازي، وغيرهما.كتب إلي الإجازة بجميع مسموعاته، ووجدت سماعه في مجالس من أمالي القاضي أبي منصور محمد بن عبد الجبار السمعاني، وفي الأحاديث المائة التي جمعها أبو مسعود البجلي. سمع منه والدي وعماي، وحدثني عنه جماعة من الكهول. وكانت ولادته في حدود سنة ثلاثين وأربع مائة. وتوفي في سنة عشر وخمس مائة.
