شيخ آخر: هو أبو سهل، مكرم بن محمد بن نصر بن خطلغ، الجوري، الشيرازي، الفيروزاباذي، من أهل شيراز. ورد أصبهان صغيرًا وسكنها إلى حين وفاته. وكان من أهل الخير والصلاح، كثير المحفوظ. سمع أباه أبا شجاع الأديب، وأبا مسعود سليمان بن إبراهيم الوراق، والرئيس أبا عبد الله القاسم بن الفضل الثقفي، وأبا سعيد رجاء بن عبد الواحد بن قولويه المعقلي الأصبهانيين. كتبت عنه مجالس من أمالي أبي عبد الله محمد بن إبراهيم الجرجاني، بروايته عن سليمان، عنه. ومجلسًا من أمالي أبي الحسن ابن ميله، بروايته عن ابن قولويه، عنه.
