شيخ آخر: هو أبو الفتح، محمد بن محمد بن علي بن إسماعيل بن إبراهيم بن إسماعيل، البيع، الخياط، من أهل مرو. كان دلال الصيارفة، وكان شيخًا حسن الشيبة، له سمت وسكون. وكنت أراه قبل خروجي إلى الرحلة يكثر الجلوس في مدرستنا العميدية، ويأوي إليها، فسألته يومًا، هل سمعت شيئًا من الحديث؟ فقال: بلى، كنت في كتاب الأديب كامكار بن عبد الرزاق، ففتشت أجزاء الأديب، فوجدت في جزء سماعه، فسمعت منه، وكتبت عنه، ولم يسمع منه أحد إلا معي. وكانت ولادته قبل سنة سبعين وأربع مائة، وتوفي سنة نيف وثلاثين وخمس مائة.
