شيخ آخر: هو أبو المعالي، محمد بن الفضل بن عمر بن الحسن، الحفصي، الأصبهاني، من أهل أصبهان. شيخ مستور صالح،سمع أبا عمرو عبد الوهاب بن منده. كتبت عنه بأصبهان، وقرأت عليه جزءًا ضخمًا من أمالي أبي عبد الله بن منده الحافظ، المجلس الرابع والأربعين إلى آخر السابع والخمسين، وجميعه ثلاثة عشر مجلسًا بروايته عن أبي عمرو، عن أبيه. وسألته ببغداد عن ولادته، فقال: ولدت بأصبهان في ذي الحجة، سنة إحدى وستين وأربع مائة، وتوفي. . . .
