شيخ آخر: هو أبو بكر محمد بن بطال بن الحسن بن موسى، الفقيه، الهمذاني، من أهل همذان. شيخ فقيه، صالح، خير من أهل العلم والفضل، مليح الخط. سمع أبا الفضل محمد بن عثمان بن أحمد بن مزدين القومساني، وأبا القاسم عبد الملك بن عبد الغفار بن محمد البصري المعروف ببنجير، وأبا محمد عبد الصمد بن أحمد بن علي السليطي الحافظ، وغيرهم. سمعت منه في النوبة الأولى بهمذان. فمن جملة ما سمعت منه: أحاديث خرجها له أبو العلاء العطار.وجزء من حديث ظاهر النيسابوري، وكانت ولادته في المحرم، سنة ستين وأربع مائة بهمذان. وتوفي يوم الخميس التاسع عشر من ذي الحجة، سنة ثلاث وثلاثين وخمس مائة.
