شيخ آخر: هو أبو المظفر، محمد بن أحمد بن محمد بن المظفر، الهروي، ثم المروزي. ولد أبي مطيع، ووالد مشايخنا علي، وأبي مطيع، من أهل الفضل والعلم. كان مقدمًا في المحافل والاجتماعات، حسن السيرة، والتذكير، كثير التهجد بالليل. سمع الإمام أبا القاسم عبد الرحمن بن محمد الفوراني، والأستاذ أبا القاسم عبد الكريم بن هوازن القشيري، وأبا الحسن عبيد الله بن منده الأصبهاني. كتب إلي الإجازة بجميع مسموعاته بخطه في أوائل شوال، سنة ست وخمس مائة بعد ولادتي بشهرين. ومات ليلة الأربعاء، ودفن من الغد الرابع عشر من شوال، سنة ست وخمس مائة بسنجذان.
