أبو محمد، فضائل بن رضوان بن الحسن المقدسي، ثم الدمشقي، الحصري أصله من بيت المقدس، سكن والده دمشق. شيخ صالح، سديد السيرة، جميل الأمر. انتقل من بيت المقدس لما استولت عليه الإفرنج إلى دمشق وسكنها. وكان ممن يحفظ الأشعار. صحبنا من دمشق إلى بيت المقدس، ومشهد الخليل صلوات الله عليه، ورجع معنا إلى دمشق. وكتبت عنه ببلاد السواحل والأرض المقدسة، وكان ذلك في ذي القعدة سنة خمس وثلاثين. وذكر لي فضائل: أنه ولد بدمشق في رجب، سنة سبع وستين وأربع مائة، وتوفي بعد سنة خمس. . . .
