شيخ آخر: هو أبو الفتوح، فضل الله بن محمد بن محمود بن محمد بن علي بن محمد بن علي بن شجاع، الشجاعي، السرخسي، المعروف بالسره مرد من أهل سرخس. وهو من أحفاد أبي سفيان أحمد بن عبد الله العبدوسي. من بيت الحديث، والعلم، والتقدم. وكان فاضلًا، ظريفًا. سمع بمرو جدي الإمام أبا المظفر، وبسرخس أبا منصور محمد بن عبد الملك المظفري، وأبا الفتح عبد الرزاق بن حسان المنيعي، وغيرهم. لقيته بمرو غير مرة، وكتبت عنه بسرخس شيئًا يسيرًا. وكانت ولادته بسرخس. . . . . وأربع مائة. ووفاته بنيسابور في ذي القعدة، سنة ثمان وعشرين وخمس مائة، وحمل تابوته إلى سرخس، ودفن في مدرستهم.
