شيخ آخر: هو أبو المعالي عاصم بن محمد بن غانم بن محمد بن عبد الواحد بن عبيد الله بن أحمد بن الفضل بن شهريار الأصبهاني التَّانِيّ من أصبهان، من محلة باب دربه. شيخ بهي المنظر، جميل الظاهر، من أولاد المحدثين.جده غانم كان من مشاهير الحفاظ. سمع: أبا منصور محمد بن أحمد بن شكرويه القاضي، وأبا مسعود سليمان بن إبراهيم الحافظ. وكانت ولادته قبل سنة ثمانين وأربع مائة بأصبهان. وتوفي بها يوم الخميس الثامن والعشرين من المحرم، سنة ثلاث وثلاثين وخمس مائة.
