شيخ آخر: هو أبو الحسن علي بن عثمان الفواكهي الحلواني من أهل نيسابور. شيخ صالح، مستور، كثير الحديث والسماع، عفيف النفس، أمين في المعاملة. سمع: أبا عثمان إسماعيل بن عبد الرحمن الصابوني، وأبا الحسين عبد الغافر بن محمد الفارسي، وأبا حفص عمر بن أحمد بن مسرور، وأبا سعيد محمد بن علي بن محمد الخشاب الصوفي الصفار، وأبا عبد الله محمد بن علي الخبازي، وأبا عثمان سعيد بن محمد بن أحمد البحيري، وغيرهم. وقرئ عليه الكثير، وعمر، وعاش عيش الصالحين. كتب إلي الإجازة بجميع مسموعاته. وتوفي يوم الاثنين الثامن عشر من شهر ربيع الأول، سنة ثماني عشرة وخمسمائة بنيسابور، ودفن بباب معمر.
