شيخ آخر: هو أبو الحسن علي بن أحمد بن علي الزبيري الأديب الأصبهاني من أهل أصبهان. كان إماما فاضلا، سديد السيرة، أديبا. سمع بمكة: كتاب الجامع لسفيان بن عيينة، من أبي علي الحسن بن عبد الرحمن الشافعي بالطريق الذي أذكره، وهو عن أبي علي الشافعي، قال: أبنا أبو الحسن أحمد بن إبراهيم بن فراس العبقسي، ثنا أبو جعفر محمد بن إبراهيم الديبلي، ثنا سعيد بن عبد الرحمن المخزومي، ثنا سفيان. وسمع: أبا القاسم سعد بن علي بن محمد الزنجاني، وغيره. كتب إلي الإجازة بجميع مسموعاته في سنة إحدى عشرة وخمس مائة.
