شيخ آخر: هو أبو حفص عثمان بن عتيق الله بن يعقوب بن علي السرخسي اليعقوبي الصوفي من أهل سرخس. كان أحد الصوفية، سافر الكثير إلى قومس ومازندران والجبال والعراق وأصبهان. وكان كثير الكلام، حاطب ليل، غيره أحب إلي منه. سمع: أبا المعالي الموفق بن علي بن زهير الخدامي، وأبا محمد عبد الله بن الحسن الطبسي الحافظ، وغيرهما.لقيته بنوقان طوس وسرخس. كتبت عنه ببلده سرخس. وكانت ولادته في حدود سنة تسعين وأربع مائة. وفقد بسرخس أو قتل في وقعة الغز في سنة ثلاث وخمسين وخمس مائة.
