شيخ آخر: هو أبو العلاء صاعد بن علي بن زهير بن الحسن بن علي بن خدام بن محمد بن علي بن محمد بن خدام بن محمد بن غالب الخدامي أخو الموفق من أهل سرخس. من بيت العلم والحديث. سمع: جده أبا نصر زهير بن الحسن الخدامي، سمع منه الإمام والدي في صفر سنة ثمان وخمس مائة، والظاهر أنه أخذ عنه الإجازة، ولم أرها بعد. وكانت ولادته في سنة ست وأربعين وأربع مائة. وقرأت في سفينة للخدامية بلاكمالان أن أبا العلاء صاعد بن علي بن زهير الخدامي توفي وقت الضحى يوم السبت الحادي عشر من شوال، سنة ثمان عشرة وخمس مائة فجأة من غير مرض.
