شيخ آخر: هو أبو المظفر شجاع بن علي بن الحسن بن محمد بن محمد بن علي بن محمد بن علي بن شجاع بن علي بن الحسن بن شجاع الشجاعي البناء أخوأبي الفرج عبد الصمد، وأبي علي الحسن، وهو أصغر منهما، من أهل سرخس. كان شيخًا صالحًا، من بيت العلم، غير أنه لم يكن يعرف شيئًا، وكان بناءً. سمع: أبا منصور محمد بن عبد الملك المظفري، المعروف برافوكه، وأبا نصر أحمد بن عبد الرحمن بن محمد الدغولي، وغيرهما. سمعت منه أحاديث يسيرة في الرحلة الأولى إلى سرخس سنة ثمان وعشرين. وكانت ولادته قبل سنة سبعين وأربع مائة. وتوفي بسرخس من غير مرض فجأة في الحادي والعشرين من شوال، سنة ست وأربعين وخمس مائة.
