شيخ آخر: هو أبو عبد الله الشافعي بن عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن ثابت بن أحمد الخرقي الدهان الثابتي من أهل قرية خرق إحدى قرى مرو. كان شيخًا صالحًا، له سمت ووقار، من أولاد العلماء، غير أنه لم يكن يعرف شيئًا، وكان ينفق على الفقراء والعلماء والصالحين من ماله الذي يكتسبه. سمع: أباه أبا القاسم عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن ثابت. وكانت ولادته سنة نيف وسبعين وأربع مائة. وكانت وفاته يوم الأربعاء الثامن والعشرين من المحرم سنة إحدى وأربعين وخمس مائة، ودفن بقريته خرق.
