أبو علي زاهر بن أحمد بن محمد بن عبد الله البشاري السرخسي من أهل سرخس. كان شيخًا صالحًا، سديد السيرة، من بيت الحديث وأهله. سمع: أبا منصور محمد بن عبد الملك المظفري السرخسي المعروف برافوكه. سمعت منه بسرخس في سنة ثمان وعشرين أحاديث يسيرة، ثم سمعت منه جزءًا من حديث رافوكه في سنة إحدى وأربعين وخمس مائة. وكانت وفاته بسرخس في شوال، سنة خمس وأربعين وخمس مائة.
