شيخ آخر: هو الرئيس أبو علي الحسن بن محمد بن علي بن الحسن الآبي السرخسي، من أهل سرخس، كان ابن بنت عمة والدي، ﵀. وأبو علي كان فاضلا، عارفا باللغة والأدب، مليح الشعر، حسن الخط، حريصا على طلب العلم، وتحصيل الكتب النفيسة، وهو من بيت الرئاسة والتقدم. وكانت ولادته قبل سنة خمس مائة. وقتل ببرتينه في جمادى الأولى، أو شهر ربيع الأول سنة أربع وخمسين، فتكا قتله العيارون ليلا.الرواية: أنشدنا الأمير أبو علي الآبي لنفسه بجامع مرو، وأنا سألته: يا طيف إن بخلت سعاد بوصلها ... فامنن علي بوقفة ولمام واسمح بزورتك التي هي عندها ... حلت محل الروح في الأجسام
