ذِكْرُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الدِّمَشْقِيِّ ﵁ أَحَدُ مَشَايِخِ الشَّامِ، صَاحِبُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجَلَاءِ وَرَدَّ عَلَى مَنْ تَكَلَّمَ فِي قِدَمِ الْأَرْوَاحِ وَالشَّوَاهِدِ. قَالَ أَبُو عُمَرَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ: كَمَا فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ إِظْهَارَ الْآيَاتِ وَالْمُعْجِزَاتِ كَذَلِكَ فَرَضَ عَلَى الْأَوْلِيَاءِ كِتْمَانَهَا حَتَّى لَا يُفْتَتَنَ بِهَا الْخَلْقُ. وَقَالَ أَبُو عُمَرَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ: حَقِيقَةُ الْخَوْفِ أَلَّا تَخَافَ مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا.
