ذِكْرُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ ﵁ مِنْ تَابِعِي أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ , قَالَ: دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّلَمِيِّ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو رَبِّي وَقَدْ صُمْتُ ثَمَانِينَ رَمَضَانَ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ: أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ» . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: فَذَاكَ أَقْعَدَنِي مَقْعَدِي هَذَا، وَأَقْرَأَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً.
