    ذِكْرُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ ﵁ نَزَلَ الشَّامَ، قَالَ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ عَبْدٍ: اسْتَكْسَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَسَانِي خَيْشَتَيْنِ، فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي أَلْبِسُهُمَا وَأَنَا أَكَسَى أَصْحَابِي. قَالَ شُرَيْحُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ: كَانَ عُتْبَةُ يَقُولُ: عِرْبَاضُ بْنُ سَارِيَةَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي، وَيَقُولُ عِرْبَاضُ: عُتْبَةُ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي، سَبَقَنِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِسَنَةٍ.
