سفيان بن أسد الحضرمي ويقال: ابن أسيد عداده في أهل الشام. روى عنه: جبير بن نفير. أخبرنا خيثمة بن سليمان، قال: حدثنا سليمان بن عبد الحميد البهراني. ح وأخبرنا خالد بن أحمد الحضرمي، حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن يحيى بن حمزة، قالا: حدثنا حيوة بن شريح، قال: حدثنا بقية، قال: وأخبرني أبو شريحضبارة بن مالك الحضرمي، أنه سمع أباه يحدث، عن عبد الرحمن بن جبير بن نفير، أن أباه حدثه، عن سفيان بن أسد الحضرمي: أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول: «كبر من خيانة أن تحدث أخاك بما هو لك مصدق، وأنت له كاذب» . هذا حديث غريب، لا يعرف إلا من هذا الوجه. ـ
