السائب بن أبي وداعة السهمي وهو ابن صبيرة بن سعيد بن سعد بن سهم القرشي. قال ابن أبي خيثمة: أبو وداعة اسمه الحارث بن صبيرة، أسره أبو مرثد، فقال النبي ﷺ: تمسكوا به، فإن له ابنًا كيسًا، فخرج المطلب ابنه ففاداه بأربعة آلاف، وهو أول أسير فدي.أخبرناه الهيثم بن كليب إجازة، قال: حدثنا ابن أبي خيثمة بهذا. روى حديثه محمد بن إبراهيم بن المطلب بن السائب بن أبي وداعة، عن أبيه، عن جده: أن السائب أصيب في شهر ربيع سنة تسع وخمسين. أخبرناه أحمد بن الحسن بن عتبة، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن عيسى، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن المنذر، قال: حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم بهذا. ـ
