داود بن بلال بن بليل وقيل: ابن أحيحة، أبو ليلى الأنصاري. روى عنه: ابنه عبد الرحمن سماه الحلواني، عن محمد بن عمران بن أبي ليلى، أراه عن آبائه. أخبرناه أحمد بن محمد بن زياد، قال: حدثنا محمد بن إسماعيل الصايغ، عن الحلواني بهذا. أخبرنا إسماعيل بن محمد البغدادي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق الصغاني. ح وحدثنا محمد بن محمد بن الأزهر، قال: حدثنا الحارث بن محمد التميمي، قالا: حدثنا عبيد الله بن موسى، عن محمد بن عمران بن أبي ليلى، عن ثابت البناني، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى، عن أبيه، قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ يصلي تطوعًا، فسمعته يقول: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من النار، ويل لأهل النار» .ـ
