خالد بن جبل، ويقال: ابن أبي جبل العدواني عداده في أهل الحجاز. روى عنه: ابنه عبد الرحمن.أخبرنا خيثمة بن سليمان، قال: حدثنا إسحاق بن سيار، ويحيى بن أبي طالب، قالا: حدثنا أبو عاصم الضحاك بن مخلد، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن الطائفي، قال: حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن خالد، عن أبيه، قال: رأيت النبي ﷺ في مشرق ثقيف معتمدًا على قوس، فقرأ: والسماء والطارق حتى ختمها، فقالوا: عسى أن يكون هذا حق، قال: فقال القرشيون: نحن أعلم بما يقول صاحبنا، لو كان الذي يقول حقًا لا تبعناه. رواه مروان بن معاوية وغيره، عن عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن.
