الأسود بن خلف بن عبد يغوث الزهري القرشي أدرك النبي ﷺ، وسمع منه أحاديث. أخبرنا عبد الرحمن بن يحيى بن مندة، قال: أخبرنا أبو مسعود، قال: أخبرنا عبد الرزاق، عن ابن جريج، قال: أخبرني عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم أن محمد بن الأسود بن خلف أخبره: أن أباه حضر النبي ﷺ يبايع الناس عند قرن مصقلة، أو مسقلة، فرأيته قد جاء الصغار والكبار يبايعونه على الإسلام والشهادة. هذا حديث مشهور عن ابن جريج.
