٣٤٨٤ ـ هند بنت عتبة بن ربيعة بن عبد شمس بن عبد مناف القرشية العبشمية، أم معاوية بن أبى سفيان: أسلمت عام الفتح، بعد إسلام زوجها أبى سفيان بن حرب، فأقرهما رسول الله ﷺ على نكاحهما. وكانت امرأة فيها ذكر، ولها نفس وأنفة. وشكت إلى رسول الله ﷺ أن زوجها أبا سفيان لا يعطيها من الطعام ما يكفيها وولدها، فقال لها رسول الله ﷺ: «خذى من ماله بالمعروف ما يكفيك أنت وولدك». وتوفيت هند بنت عتبة فى خلافة عمر بن الخطاب رضى الله عنه، فى اليوم الذى مات فيه أبو قحافة والد أبى بكر الصديق، رضى الله عنهما.
