    ٢٨٣١ ـ أبو بكر بن محمد العقيلى ـ بفتح العين ـ السلامى بتخفيف اللام ـ اليمنى، المعروف بالزيلعى: وذكر الجندى فى «تاريخ أهل اليمن» أنه: ولد بالقرية المعروفة بالسلامة، من عمل حيس (١)، بقرب زبيد، وحج إلى مكة عدة حجج، قيل تسعا، وتوفى بعاشرتها، وكان ابن العجيل قد حج تلك السنة، فقال لأهل مكة: ما كنتم فاعلين لكبراء قريش، فعلتموه لهذا، فقد تحققت أنه قرشى، فغسلوه وكفنوه، ثم قبروه. وقبره بالمعلاة معروف، يقصد بالزيارة، وفيه دفن ولده على بن أبى بكر المقدم ذكره.
