٢٤٠٩ ـ محمود بن جمال الدين أبى طاهر الهروى الناسخ: جاور بمكة مدة، وسمع بها الكثير، على الشيخ جمال الدين الأميوطى، والعفيف عبد الله بن محمد النشاورى، وغيرهما من شيوخنا، بالسماع والإجازة، وكتب بخطه الكثير، ووقف كتبا فى الحديث والفقه، وجعل مقرّها برباط الخوزى بمكة، واشتهر بالخير، وقد سألت عنه شيخنا ابن ظهيرة فقال: كان رجلا صالحا. انتهى. توفى فى أوائل سنة ست وتسعين وسبعمائة بمكة، ودفن بالمعلاة، وكان يسكن فى رباط غزى بأجياد، من مكة.
