٢٢٢٩ ـ عمرو بن أبى سفيان بن عبد الرحمن بن صفوان بن أمية الجمحى المكى: أخو حنظلة بن أبى سفيان، وعبد الرحمن. روى عن عم أبيه أمية بن صفوان، وابن عم أبيه عمرو بن عبد الله بن صفوان، ومسلم بن ثفنة. روى عنه أخوه حنظلة، وابن جريج، وزكريا بن إسحاق، وسفيان الثورى، وابن المبارك. روى له البخارى، وأبو داود، والترمذى، والنسائى. ذكره ابن حبان فى الطبقة الثالثة من الثقات، وقال: من أهل مكة. ووثّقه غير واحد. وقال أبو حاتم: مستقيم الحديث.
