١٩٤٤ ـ عثمان بن الأسود بن موسى بن زادان الجمحى مولاهم المكى: روى عن: أبيه، وسعيد بن جبير، وطاوس، وعطاء، وابن أبى مليكة، ومجاهد، وغيرهم. روى عنه: سفيان الثورى، ويحيى القطّان، وابن المبارك، وعبيد الله بن موسى، وأبو عاصم النبيل، وغيرهم. روى له الجماعة. ووثّقه أحمد، وابن معين، وأبو حاتم. ومات سنة خمسين ومائة. قاله عمرو بن على، والواقدى. وقال ابن حبّان: مات بمكة سنة تسع وأربعين، وقيل: سنة ستين. كذا بخطى، ولعله سنة خمسين. والله أعلم.
