٦٥٩ ـ أحمد بن محمد، أبو الحسن البطرنى: رحل وقرأ على أبى الفرح غلام ابن شنبوذ، وعمر بن إبراهيم الكتانى، تلا عليه ابن شريح صاحب الكافى. قال الدانى: أقرأ الناس دهرا بمكة، ولم يكن بالضابط ولا بالحافظ. مات بمكة سنة ثمان وثلاثين وأربعمائة. ذكره الذهبى فى الميزان، ومنه كتبت هذه الترجمة.
