٥٨١ ـ أحمد بن عبد الرحمن بن وهبان، المعروف بابن أفضل الزمان، أبى العباس: ذكره ابن الأثير فى كامله، فقال: كان عالما متبحرا فى علوم كثيرة: الخلاف والفقه، ومذهبه، والأصولين والحساب، والفرائض والنحو والهيئة والمنطق وغير ذلك، وختم أعماله بالزهد ولبس الخشن، وأقام بمكة حرسها الله تعالى مجاورا، حتى توفى بها فى صفر سنة خمس وثمانين وخمسمائة. وقال: كان من أحسن الناس صحبة وخلقا، وهو من شيوخه.
