٣٣٦ ـ محمد بن على أبو عبد الله الحافظ، يعرف بقرطمة: بغدادى كبير حافظ مقدم فى العلم. ذكره هكذا الخطيب. قال: سمع محمد بن حميد الرازى، وأبا سعيد الأشج والحسن ابن محمد بن الصباح الزعفرانى وأحمد بن منصور الرمادى. ورحل إلى خراسان، فكتب عن محمد بن يحيى الذهلى بنيسابور، وعن غيره. وله رحلة أيضا إلى الشام والحجاز، ومصر، وأحسبه سكن الكوفة وحدث بها. روى عنه: أبو بكر بن أبى دارم الكوفى وغيره. وروى الخطيب بسنده إلى داود بن يحيى بن يمان أنه قال: والله ما رأيت أحفظ من قرطمة. وذكر حكاية عجيبة فى حفظه. قال الخطيب: بلغنى أن قرطمه هذا، توفى بمكة سنة تسعين ومائتين.
