٥٥ ـ محمد بن أحمد بن محمد بن عمار، الحافظ الشهيد، أبو الفضل بن أبى الحسين الجارودى: سمع من عثمان بن سعيد الدارمى، وهو أقدم شيخ له، وأحمد بن نجدة، ومعاذ بن منى وغيرهم.وحدث عنه: الحافظ أبو على، ومحمد بن المظفر، ومحمد بن أحمد بن حماد بن حماد الكوفى وغيرهم. وتوفى بمكة شهيدا فى فتنة القرامطة التى كان مقدمهم فيها أبو طاهر القرمطى. وكانوا وافوا مكة يوم الاثنين لسبع خلون من ذى الحجة سنة سبع عشرة وثلاثمائة. وقيل: فى ثامن الشهر. وقتل فيها زهاء ثلاثين ألفا من الحجاج وغيرهم. وقد شرحنا شيئا من خبر هذه الفتنة فى تأليفنا «شفاء الغرام» ومختصراته الثلاثة.
