١٨٦٩ - عقبة بن محرم بن أفلح العمي، أبو عبد الملك البصري قال الفضل بن زياد: سمعت أبا عبد اللَّه -وقال له ابنه عبد اللَّه: قد قدم رجل من البصرة عنده كتب غندر، يعني: عقبة بن مكرم- فقال أبو عبد اللَّه:ما أعلم أحدًا كتب الكتب غيرنا أخذنا من على كتبه أو إنما كان انتخابًا فأخذنا كتب الشيخ وكنا ننسخها. وقال عبد اللَّه: قال أبي: لم يسمع هذا الكتاب -يعني: حديث شعبة من غندر- إلا أنا ويحيى وخلف وهيثم الزهراني وصدقة المروزي، قال: كنا نزولًا في دار إنسان يقال له: الرازي، فقال لنا: اذهبوا بابني معكم. فلا أدري سمع الكتاب كله أو بعضه.
