١٥٤٠ - عبد الأعلى بن مسهر بن أبي قدامة، أبو مسهر قال أبو داود: سمعت أحمد يقول: رحم اللَّه أبا مسهر، ما كان أثبته! وجعل يطريه. "سؤالات أبي داود" (٢٨٥) قال أبو زرعة الدمشقي: قال لي أحمد بن حنبل: كان عندكم ثلاثة أصحاب حديث: مروان، والوليد، وأبو مسهر. "تاريخ بغداد" ١١/ ٧٣١، "تهذيب الكمال" ١٦/ ٣٧٣، "سير أعلام النبلاء" ١٠/ ٢٣١ قال الميموني: وذكر يومًا -يعني: أحمد بن حنبل- أبا مسهر الشامي، فقال: كيس، عالم بالشاميين. قلت: وبالنسب؟ قال: نعم، زعموا.
